Finally made it into The District to buy the rhum agricole recommended
by Ed for my Mai Tai 'experiments'. (La Favorite Vieux). The place was pretty tiny, just jam packed full of premium wines and spirits--they literally were overflowing from the shelves and onto the counters ! This store probably has the best selection of cane spirits in the DC Metro area--well over 100 types,
including multiple brands of rhum agricole, and many rare aged rums.
I felt like the proverbial kid in a candy store (esp compared with the limited
selection of spirits found in the VIrginia ABC stores....)

Joe Riley works hard and occasionally gets in trouble from his boss for having too many good things on the shelves, floor, backroom and the office. But if you can't find it at Ace Beverage (http://www.acebevdc.com/) chances are it isn't sold in Washington DC. Joe knows his rum and whisky, bourbon, gin and other better booze. If you're looking for some peach vodka he might have it, but it won't be behind the counter.

Joe checks in on this forum when he has time, but I don't expect to see him until after the holidays. Not everyone goes home from Washington DC for the holidays, some people actually live there all year long.

Ed, you're far too kind Good grief, I think that I'm actually blushing :o

All I can say is, I do the best that I can with what I have, and I try to stock compelling spirits products that I think folks are interested in buying.

Wish that I could stock twice what I carry. There's just so much good spirit out there. *Sigh*.....
