Does any one know if this rum is available in the US, specifically Florida, and if so, who the distributor is?

Hank, Cacique 500 is a Diageo Brand. I believe they bring the Cacique Anjeo into the USA. Check with the Diageo Rep or Wholesaler in your area for it and the 500 availability.

I have been searching for the two top CACIQUE's for quite a while.
I have head numerous times that the top of the line Cacique Antiguo, is incredible, and the 500 also excellent. The Antiguo, I'm told can only be obtained in Venezuela.
I did get the locally available Cacique Anejo. One of the least favorite in my stash.
Happy hunting

It seems that Diageo is distributing the 500 widely in Venezuela and Spain. I believe that it can sometimes be obtained from stockists in the UK.

Cacique rums are very popular all over Europe. Currently the Whisky Exchange (http://www.thewhiskyexchange.com/SearchDetail.aspx?txtKeywords=cacique) stocks two Cacique rums in the UK.

Sorry I can't help you with the US Hank.

Cacique rums are widely distributed in Europe, particularly in Spain. The Aсejo, the 500 and the Antiguo are all also available in the UK through online retailers, but at inflated prices in my opinion. I think the Aсejo makes for a good mixer, but nothing more. The 500 is decent, certainly a step up.

As for the increasingly rare Antiguo, I tracked down a bottle in a small liquor shop in Barcelona earlier this year. I paid Ђ45 for it. It is still unopened. I have also heard that this rum is spectacular. I'm waiting for a suitable occasion to open it.

I think 45 euros is a good price for this rum. I really like it, if you are interested here is my mini review of the Antiguo (http://www.refinedvices.com/forum_/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=313) and a full review of the 500. (http://www.refinedvices.com/Cacique-500-Ron-Extra-Anejo-Venezuela) Would love to compare tasting notes with you once you open the bottle!

are there any problems that occur when shipping from mexico to the us? if not and your spanish is good enough you can get it from a decent amount of liquor stores in mexico for the price of shipping and price of the western union transfer. i wish the shipment the other way around was that easy.
