Hi everyone,
I just found this site http://www.doralwine.com and trying to make a purchase as they are the only ones around I have found that has the Cartavio 1929 Old Rum of Solera 12 Yrs available in the US. The problem is on their website when trying to complete the checkout the field for what country isn't working. Upon calling them up on the phone they said that they are having problems with their site and I could give them my cc information over the phone. Personally I don't feel comfortable doing this unless I really know them.

Anyone have dealings with them? I really wanna grab a few bottles but not at the risk of cc fraud.

Thanks

If you're talking to the company directly on the phone I'd feel confident, but it's not my credit card you're using. Or at least I hope it isn't.

The lack of a working ecommerce store is a little distressing but hopefully they will get it sorted out. I don't know of any other stores that carry that rum. The distribution of that rum is small and to my knowledge it isn't available online outside south Florida today.

Thanks Ed as always for sharing your advice and input. I think what I will do is go grab one of those preloaded credit cards at the store like a Visa gift card and then use that so incase something fishy happens I'm only out the money on a few bottles of rum. I will keep everyone informed on my order and of course my humble opinion on the Cartavio 1929 Old Rum of Solera 12. I am thristy and wanting to start ordering rums I have been adding to my wish list. Afterall it's the holiday season and I have been very good.lol!

That is a very good idea.

My day job is managing a dispute process for one of the largest banks in thc US, and can tell you that if you order with your card you do have dispute rights available if you do not receive your product. I would not bother buying one of the pre-paid cards, your regular CC will give you better protection. If you use your card and the item does not arrive, send me a PM and I can walk you through what you need to do to recover your money.

I only wish I could find an online liquor store in FL that would ship to Delaware.

Thanks bluewave6 for the support. I am having second thoughts on ordering from them something just doesn't seem right. I got a quote on shipping from them in Fl and I'm in Cal and they gave me a quote of like $48 for 2 bottles. Now that just doesn't seem right in the least bit especially seeing how that is with UPS Ground. So I am holding off in hopes that the mighty Forrest can help me procure a couple bottles.

Seems shipping rates have gone through the roof. I used to order from Specs and paid 22 bucks from TX to DE for 8 bottles...when I went to order again the shipping was 75 bucks for 8 bottles now...so needless to say I am shopping local now
