I take it that Carolina Gold is rather different from Acapulco Gold (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acapulco_gold) ;)

Ah, the Firefly folks. Well, then, I give this high hopes. They certainly seem to know what they're doing. Too bad it's only available in SC.

I'd never buy a bottle for the label...but the girl on that label could convince me to do otherwise:D Looks good, I've been rethinking my theory on flavored rums lately. A little bit.
I second your thoughts on the label. Nice design!

I used to live in Java and am a little surprised at the collection of language, English, French and not a word of Malay on the Java rum label. Oh well, I'm still looking forward to trying this one.

Nice label. I'd love to try it too. Is 36 proof enough to call it a rum in the U.S.A.?

Ed, they are using the term "Java" to imply coffee... It's a coffee flavored rum :D

The Java rum is 35 A.B.V. / 70 Proof and the Carolina Gold rum is 40 A.B.V. / 80 Proof.

Rum has to be at least 80 proof to be called rum in the US, but it can be called flavored rum.
