We have Ron Millonario in Cali now.. Tasting note:
Ron Millonario, Solera 15, Reserva Especial:Aromas of prune, allspice, dates, nutmeg, cloves, balsam, Demerara sugar and dried-fig build to also show caramel, candied tree fruits, maple, butter toffee and molasses. The palate is full with treacle, sweet tea, Lazarakia, mince tart, Panettone, Marzipan, toffee bathed in a lovely sweetness that washes the palate but maintains a clean, salient limpidity. The simple mouth-feel reveals dried fruits, caramel, fig custard, sultanas and butterscotch. All this leads to a solid finish, with lovely balance that articulates in a gentle fade that is rich with excellent palate activity.

Not initially, i don't think. They are distributed by a smaller distributor and apparently it is harder to get stuff into the 'chains'-- i searched their site and did not find anything..

Just saw this on the shelf of a local liquor store. Sounds like a worthy purchase.

We have this rum exclusively at Joseph's Liqour Store. It is a great offering. Rich, complex with a great mouth feel. Great potential for pairing with cigars.gzzg Did the cigar smoking smilie retire?

Hank, I just noticed that the cigar smilie had gone awol. It was in the files but only after deleting it and then uploading it again was it visible. It's back.acigar

I'm on the fringe of Orange County in the Inland Empire and have been checking the Costco's around here for Ron Millonario since this post,..... to no avail. What Costco(s) did you find this at?

Total Wine has it. I was going to pick one up today, but got an Appleton 12 instead. I think California has a TW or two.

Thanks Jamie. Yea,there's a Total Wine fairly close to me, but I didn't notice the Millonario last time I was there. They're kind of spotty with there Rum inventory here. What is it running for @ Total Wine in Arizona?

I don't recall the exact price, but I seem to remember it being in the mid 20's, so not bad.

Many stores still don't give rum as much respect as other spirits, which is unfortunate. I do have to give it to TW however, they now carry El Dorado 5, 12, 15 and 21. I would appreciate it if they would get some other interesting bottles in though from time to time.

I was in The Scottsdale Costco last month and got the Millionario for about 25 dollars. It was not at TW.

I checked with the manager @ my local Costco and he did a company system search for Ron Millonario and could find no evidence of it being sold at any Costco's in SoCal. They did however have Pyrat XO in stock for $20,... for those with interest. At least it's a step up from their usual limited Bacardi and Captain Morgan rum selection.

Carried at Leukens Liquors in the Tampa/ St Pete area.

I was checking a few stores to see their different stocks and compare some prices. Could not find much info re Millonaro on the web except for a gold award along w/ zacapa 23 at a european tasting. Did not write the price since I was concentrating on others but I think it was upper 30s.

It was suprising to see some of the price variations on Zafra and Zacapa XO. Leukens carried those for $20 cheaper ($40 and $80 respectively) than other locals . Zafra and Ron Millonaro are not listed on their website.

Availability was not the issue,... it's readily available for ~$40. "rumnoob" claimed it was @ Costco for $24. A far cry from $40, making it an easy decision for a try. But unfortunately, that information turned out to be bogus.
