Hi all,
Firstly hello and a quick intro.
I am Graham and live in Devon UK. I serve in the Royal Marines Band here in England and obviously rum is a very traditional spirit to us.
I recently attanded a charity auction for Help for Heroes.
It was a service event and I was fortunate to win a sealed demijohn in wicker basket of 110% proof rum.
This came from one of the last stocks in Gibraltar, as you know where we would collect our supplies for the ships.
It was donated by an elderly gentleman who has had it for some time.
I know the contents are fine as the seal is in good order.
I am looking at moving this on as it seems a waste to open and i do not know enough drinkers of rum, also as my father served on board during the tot issue, I know it is very very strong, hence why it was issued watered.
Please can anyone offer advice as to where best to sell this in the UK. Of course I will ship anywhere if costs are paid.
I can post pics if required.
The wicker has a red band around centre and the jar is encassed. Seal intact.
Many thanks
Graham
