Seems to be a tough find around here... Some of the Teddy's stores in the NW suburbs stock the Lemon Hart 80 proof Demerara, but quite frankly I've been buying up the last few bottles they have. Has anyone seen their 151 proof Demerara anywhere?

Thanks so much,

Ben

Great post! but now you did beat me on this..i`m working on a post about demerara..you can get it a try in Sam's Wines. The location is in a historic building in Chicago's South Loop with one of the largest retail wine and spirit inventories in the country, including a fine wine room with rare and allocated wines.

Hate to tell you this, but as of last month Sam's Wine & Spirits no longer exists. After closing two of their stores over the past year they sold out to Binny's. Binny's is a great wine store, however their spirits selection has always been inferior to Sam's. I have always found Binny's rum selection in particular to be way below the bar; they have way too many overpriced single malt scotch & Cognacs (which don't seem to sell) but not enough cutting edge rum, cachaca, pisco and artisanal liqueurs to serve the tastes of modern cocktail nerds like myself. I get to Chicago 2-3 times per year, and I would always go to Sam's and load up on hundreds of dollars worth of unique items that I can't get at home. I don't anticipate making liquor runs like that to Binny's in the future.
