Here is a new blog post on a rum that has grown upon me and has become one of my favorite mixing rums, i especially like to pair it with demerara in tiki drinks or fruity punches.

I recently picked up this rum when I was in New Orleans. It's my favorite spiced (and spicy) rum, but it's too valuable for me to mix. I haven't been able to find it anywhere else :(

sorry to revive an old thread (its only a few months old).
being from Louisiana, its nice to see this distillery start to get some notification. I've had most of their rums, but this one by far is the most interesting. when drinking it, you can feel the cayenne pepper in the background on the back of your throat, its not a bad thing at all. it give the old rum and coke a nice twist, a little bit if Emeril "BAM" if you will. the only thing i can suggest to not do is enjoy this with a spicy cigar (unless you are into that). it was a bit of a spice overload for myself.

The Cajun spiced is one of my fav rums nowadays and it pairs perfectly well with my other favorite rum which is Demerara. Somehow the heavy punch of the Demerara and dancing spiciness of the ONO Cajun just marries sooo well.
Thank God I have friends in New Orleans who can send over a bottle when this one I brought home is finished!
How I would love to see the ONO rum range on our shelves here! what an utopia..

I've enjoyed this rum and looked forward to it coming to Maryland. The cayenne gives it a nice bite. The next time I get a chance to buy a bottle, I'll be looking to find the right cocktail to showcase it's distinctive flavor.

Cajun Spice is unique among the rums with which I am familiar. The balance is remarkable considering that the cayenne spice is fresh and very potent.
haven't seen or tried the ONO spiced yet but I have a bottle of the ONO 10 year; the ones that are numbered bottles.
Has anyone tried that? What can I expect?
