Was wandering through the average neighborhood liquor store yesterday and the new packaging for Cruzan's Single Barrel caught my eye. I've seen the light and dark previously, but not the new SB. Then the price tag caught my eye. $11.99. Same as the black strap and white, cheaper than the 151.
Now I'm guessing this was either a pricing mistake (there was no Cruzan dark to be found, maybe the store got confused?), or Cruzan has changed their line again.
So did I stumble on a great deal, or has Cruzan downgraded the SB?
For what it's worth, it sure tastes like the best $12 bottle of rum I've ever bought by far, so I'm guessing pricing mistake, but I'm hoping not!

you should pick up a case or two before they realize their error.

TRY to keep a straight face when you show up at the check out counter with a cart load.

Have you tasted your bargain Single Barrel?
I didn't like the single barrel as much as I LOVED to 5 year old Estate Diamond (which was discontinued) and I'm waiting for it to return in some form.
Is the new single barrel just a labeling/marketing difference, or does the rum taste different?

To my taste the new packaging didn't affect the Cruzan Single Barrel. But considering all the changes going on in St Croix, I'm holding my breath. Without hoping for Cruzan to loose any sales, I hope that since the mergers and acquisitions over the past few years will allow Cruzan to put more rum away for aging and go back to aged rums as we knew them a few years ago.

Gents it sells for about $35 here in The Bahamas. I must chuckle and agree with Rum Runners comments.
PS I finally took a moment to capture most of my collection on film. You never know how differicult it is to try and capture all. I spent 2 hours trying to arrange bottles. Go to my photo album to view.

I used to buy Havana Club Anejo Reserva for $6.86 in St Maarten, which was mismarked, of course. I never asked for more than was on the shelf and it wasn't always mismarked. An uninformed friend finally asked for a couple of cases and the mistake was discovered by the manager. I never saw it at that price again.
