Sorry for the late notice, but last night Eva's Caribbean Restaurant, Kobrand, the importer of Appleton Estate Rums in the US and Hi Times Wine Cellar hosted a rum tasting and dinner. I'll be posting more on that event in a few days when I can catch my breath.

Here (http://www.ministryofrum.com/events/evasappleton09.php) are some pictures from last Thursday. David Morrison told me that he expects the new Appleton 30 year old rum to be available in Southern California next week.

I tried to confirm this for the last three days but have only gotten the run around from the southern California Kobrand manager. Oh well.

I'll have more in a few days from Kobrand's corporate office.

Thanks to John and the crew at Blackstone Media Group (http://www.blackstonemediagroup.tv), I've uploaded a short interview (http://www.ministryofrum.com/forums/../events/evasappleton09.php) with David Morrison recorded at Eva's Caribbean Kitchen (http://www.ministryofrum.com/forums/../events/evasappleton09.php) Oct 22, 09.

You can also find this interview on the J. Wray & Nephew (http://www.ministryofrum.com/forums/../producerdetails.php?t=83) page and the interviews (http://www.ministryofrum.com/forums/../interviews.php) page on this site.

I'm not emailing Forrest because he should already know I'm gonna be there this time.

I'm bummed that I'll be on a plane back from the Dominican Republic that afternoon and it's just too far to cross the country and drive down the same day. But please feel sorry for me for missing it.

It's only fair, Ed. I missed the last one because of a DR visit, so you have to miss this one for the same reason. :P

Life is not fair, but it's all we've got. If you're looking for something that isn't fair, I should be on my boat in the islands and not in some place that will be colder than the freezer in your house in two days. But I'm not complaining.

Now if you want to hear about what isn't fair, and hear someone complain, just listen to Brett Favre talk about how the hapless Chicago Bears beat the Vikings last night in overtime. If Peyton Manning looked like a kid that had just had his bike stolen on Sunday, Brett looked like he had just wrecked his new car last night.

Eva is having some events coming up... Rum and Chocolate April 22, Rum and cigars (do not know which cigars yet) on July 11, and a rum tasting August 19th. I believe Ed will be there in August?! Hope to see some of you at one of these events. I am planning on attending all three. (I am coming home from Hawaii on the same date in July, but plan on going straight there from the airport).
