My Blog is up and I have posted tasting notes on Diplomatico Blanco, Zacapa Centenario, Mocambo 20 Art Edition and Zaya. There is also a post about home spiced rum Puerto Rican style.
All my tasting notes are also available on the Ministry of Rum home page. Just search the name of the rum.
There's more to come.

I have a new post up. It's "A Slice of Life". Once in a while we all need to stop and enjoy our surroundings. Of course with a glass of rum.

I wish I had palm trees and sand here. Only granite and frost and copious amounts of lumber.

Nice reviews. It's almost time for me to make the Christmas cakes for this year, and I think I'll be using the two-star for the soaking this time around.

Rum Runner, what type of glass do you have next to the Zacapa 23 in the photo accompanying your review? Recommend it for tasting?

jrl915. Sorry for my delay in replying. It's been crazy busy here for me.
The glass is a typical Sherry Copita. I have used this style of glass for tasting fortified wines and spirits for a long time now.
I understand how different vessels can affect the tasting experience. The Copita works for me for most spirits.
There are many tools in the box so to speak and I believe that as long as you build a tasting reference memory using a "Standard" glass you will be well served.
Cheers!

Thanks, Rum Runner. I have taken to the ISO wine tasting glass, and I believe it is very similar.
By the way, my wife and I are considering retiring one day (in 15-20 yrs) in the Caribbean or Latin America. I thought now might be a good time to look into Vieques, but from what I have found, real estate is already pretty high there. How do you believe the prices compare with the BVI and the USVI?

Compared to the USVI or BVI, Vieques is cheap. Prior to 2003 when the USA Navy was still here...It was dirt cheap. One can still find a very reasonable place here compared to most Caribbean Islands. Vieques is "Old Caribe".
Parts of the main Island of Puerto Rico can offer very good value too, as RonJames knows.
While I love visiting the main Island, It's just big enough that I don't really feel like I'm on an Island. This is going to get me into a lot of hot water with my friends on the main Island.:D
