After the recent storms we have decided to cancel our Orlando trip and head to Negril, Ja. for a few days of Rum, Reggae, Red Stripes and Rastas and definetly some Jerk and Patties. As this is a family trip there will be no Rum Tours :mad: There was no power yesterday at our intended hotel, but hopefully it will be back on by this weekend!!

It will be difficult but I will try. Getting in the mood by having a jerk chicken salad with a glass of Appleton V/X followed by a glass of Trelawny Gold.
Trying to persuade the kids a trip to the Nassau Valley and the Appleton Estate would be a fun day out!! JTR.gif

Hey Bob. Given the recent storms I don't blame you for wanting to vacation further west. The Cape Verde Hurricane season is coming into peak.

I also heard on the radio that the Queen has had enough of the local Government there and decided to sweep clean the house by next year.

I just got a small bottle of rum from the Cape Verde Islands yesterday, a first for the collection.
The Queen has already cleaned house, we are now under British rule again, no government.
Our hotel in Negril still had no power yesterday, after Ana, hopefully it will be back on by Saturday, I only need ice!!

Sorry Hank. I will make it up to you when we come north. We are already trying to decide a date out of hurricane season when it will work for us. We will come heavily stocked though as I will have 3 rum mules!!

Still trying to persuade the kids a trip around Appleton Estate would be fun. They saw the donkey crushing the sugar cane on the Travel Channel the other night and they liked that, so I have a slim chance or I could send them to the beach for the day with their mother while I sneak off.laughing.gif

You will enjoy Negril...we go twice a year ....where are you staying (Beach or Cliffs) and if you need a driver let me know and I can hook you up with as great and safe one.

We are staying on the cliffs. Can you e-mail the drivers name and number to me at conkyjo@hotmail.com in case I get an urge to go to the Nassau Valley and the Appleton Estate!! It will be so difficult to be so close and not go and see one of my favourite rums being produced.love1.gif Sheet, almost time to put the rum down and pack the shorts and t-shirts!!
