Anyone who has any recent rum shopping experience from Gatwick airport?

British airports usually have poor rum selections and as far as I can remember Gatwick is no exception. Last year I think they had Havana Club Barrel Proof for around GBP30 (1 litre), but it might have been for non-EU destinations only and I don't know if they still have it (Heathrow definitely did have it recently). Other than that, you might find Bacardi 8, Mount Gay Eclipse, and of course the usual suspects like Captain Morgan et al., but nothing really exciting. You'd be better off stocking up in town, and filling your bags!

I find that Gatwick and Heathrowe have about the same selection. Havana Club is well represented but everything else is pretty mainstream.

there's not much round the gatwick area at all. however, if you're heading into brighton, there's a decent shop on trafalgar street just down from the train station. they have a really good selection. always changing. bailed me out many times.

Unfortunately I'll be going in the opposite direction this time. I'll try and remember your tip though, I'm thinking maybe it's time to revisit Brighton. It's 23! years since I was there last...
