I wish we had something like that in our backwards country. I'd be first in line! The state owned alcohol monopoly has a strict no tasting policy...
You have a good event though! glass.gif

Thank you very much, that is super nice of you!
We have a similar policy in our state, but we have figured a way to meet the law and satisfy our curiousity at the same time.

Thanks to forrest and Trayce from Hi Times who did a great job of organizing a very nice event. Great people, great rums and great food. And thank you to all the brand reps who took time from their families to show us a great array of rums and cachacas.
It was nice to meet so many lurkers from this forum and to see some people I last met in Anguilla more than 10 years ago. Not to mention putting some faces to some usernames. It's a small world.

Ed, your valor and tenacity, in the face of adversity, to show up and have fun anyways was truly amazing.. Those of us that knew some of the detail were all impressed!
Apart from that-- The evening was fun, fun, fun and i am glad you were there!

Great fun! Thanks to Forrest and Trayce who worked very hard to make it such a good time. The venue was the perfect size, breezey and open. The food was super. Of course the rum flowed from beginning to end!
Thanks, Ed for the sneek peek of the Neisson.
Rumdood, always nice to see you.
Martin, I can't wait to have some drinks at Smugglers Cove this Fall.

Forrest and Trayce, thank you, thank you, thank you. My buddies and I had a great time. What a tremendous event. The selection of rums was crazy. It really blew me away that you managed to get so many top-notch folks there. I guess that's what I should expect from you two and Hi-Times.
Ed, it was truly an honor to meet you after lurking this site for so long.cheers.gif

Forrest, sadly I wasn't able to attend your event this year as I was at a conference in San Diego the week before but just couldn't stay down for the extra time. I'll be attending this conference every year at the same time and am thinking of bringing my family down next year afterwards and will try to attend the tasting if the timing works.
After visiting your store in May we went to the beach nearby (Newport Beach I think) and I was very impressed. I might try to rent a place near the beach for a week and will likely send a note to yourself, Rumdog 007 and some others in the area to see if you have any recommendations on places to stay.
I wish we had a store like yours here in Vancouver, it is by far the most impressive selection I've ever seen!!
