I'm off to Guatemala tomorrow to continue the research on the Rums of Guatemala. I hope to be able to unravel a lot of the confusion about, among other things, the sugar cane syrup used to make Zacapa and the Solera aging system that is currently being implemented.

I had a great time in Guatemala and am looking forward to writing a bit about that trip. It was my second visit to Zacapa so I got a lot of things sorted out. More on that later.
When I got back I had to go to another tough job, tasting about 40 samples of rum for a development project. Then today 9 more samples arrived. If you think this is easy you haven't tried to keep so many rums straight while trying to write about them so others can make sense of all the different blends.

I've updated my entries for Guatemala (http://www.ministryofrum.com/countrydetails.php?c=39) and Industrias Licoreras de Guatemala (http://www.ministryofrum.com/producerdetails.php?t=126). I'll be adding more about the Zacapa rums in the coming days but wanted to get this update up before I head to New Orleans.
I've added about 30 pictures from the trip and will be adding more as time permits.
