Any help with this please???
I found a bottle of this in the Bahamas recently. It was everywhere, so was not a one off. It was also in the old style bottle. Why give it a Spanish name from an English speaking country??
HELP please.

I have no idea why they would use a Spanish name other than to gain credibility. I notice it is Cask 15 and not 15 year old. So what did you think of the rum?

Cruzan is owned by Jim Beam Global brands, which means they are more concerned with brand perception. I'm going to put out a phone call to my rep and ask, but I have a feeling there is no rhyme or reason for the name outside of marketing.

Is this an older product or a re-badged Single Barrel Estate?

I finally got around to posting a photo of the rum on the "Latest Additions" page on my site. I will add the rest of the photos tomorrow of the other new rums. Still no news on this rum though. It won't make it to the top of my sippers list, but would make a good mixer. I'm running out of room on my US Virgin Island Rum shelf, and I still don't have any of the new style bottles.

Hi, Rumelier! With every one of your posts on the Reserva 15, I get the idea that we should be missing the Estate Diamond 5, more and more! :(

Oh, wait! I still have plenty...drool.gif

The Single Barrel is $18.00 alll over Phoenix (in the old textured bottle). party2.gif

I suspect that there are quite a few of us who hold the Estate Diamond in high esteem. Although we've liked the samples of the Single Barrel we've tried, including the one bottle purchased to this point, the Estate Diamond has been preferred from the first sip.

Please tell us rumdog, what would constitute "plenty" of this fine rum, if it never returns to the Cruzan lineup? :)

There are not really my go to rums, I find them almost perfume like in taste.
I prefer the Single Barrel out of all of them. I haven't tried the new blends yet though, as they haven't filtered down here, and I didn't get a reply from our Cruzan rep. when I asked about the future of the Single Barrel.:(

Michael, I went pretty crazy on this one and my guess is that I have 20 cases, maybe more. Total Wine had it down to $9.99 there at the end and I remember buying 6 cases. When I bought those, I thought that I had plenty already! drooling2.gif

The ATF is going to raid my compound some day....

The ATF will find nothing there after my people pay a visit.

A few Cruzan related questions:

Is the Gran Reserva Cask 15 actually available in the US Virgin Islands? My folks are doing a cruise next week and will be stopping there. Does anyone know of good places to shop for rum there?

Has the Estate Diamond been officially retired by Cruzan? I love this rum for a number of drinks and it seems to be extremely popular with the community here. They have a 2 YR, and the Single Barrel which is aged up to 12 years, and then this new rum comming; I wonder what they have planned (if anything) to fill the void of the 5 YR?

Actually, it's the Burrs (not the ATF) that really scare me! JTR.gif
