I am planning a trip to Scottsdale Arizona at the end of the month and am looking for places in the area to buy premium rums. As I come from Calgary Canada (no zacapa) I will be looking for some Zacapa 23 as well as Zacapa XO. I am also looking for Appleton 21 and Pyrat Cask 1623. I would also like to find Prichards Fine Rum. Any help wuld be appreciated.

The following would be the places to visit and in this order:
Total Wine and More - N. Phoenix
Sportsman's Fine Wine and Spirit - Scottsdale
BevMo - Tempe
Top's Liquor - Tempe
You should be able to find everything except maybe the Zacapa XO. Total Wine and BevMo should be the best on prices. Sportsman's will have most, but not everything youi seek. It is close to you in Scottsdale, but you pay a higher price. Top's liquor will have a bottle or two of the hard to find stuff. Hope this helps. If you need more info or locations let me know. I am local.

Welcome to the forums Calgaryx, sounds like you're going to be sorted out on your trip to Scottsdale. You probably won't find Zacapa XO, but you might find some other good rums that aren't on your list.

Yes, you'll find several other good ones. Bluehammer has well directed you to the best places. BTW, at Total Wine, they have Doorley's XO at $20.00 a bottle. Total Wine has the Prichards, too. Appleton 21 and Pyrat Cask is at Topps. The Zacapa 23 is at Bevmo and, as Ed/Bluehammer pointed out, the Zacapa XO is a no show.

thanks to those who helped direct me on my trip to Scottsdale! I brought home 2 bottles of Appleton 21, 4 bottles of Ron Zacapa 23, 1 bottle of Pampero Aniversario, 1 bottle of Prichards and a special treat for me a bottle of Cuvee Homere Clement. I was lucky to travel with several people who help bring the rum back across the border.
Next time I will be looking for Botran rums.

In Calgary, check out CSN Liquor Store on Center Street North. David has as far as I know the best selection in the city (and he will let you sample something that's already open). Willow Park used to be grand but they really have neglected their Rum. Kensington Wine Market (Andrew) is beginning to bring in more rum but he needs encouragement.
