On July 24th I am on my way back to the Islands to celebrate my 50th. I hope to increase my collection of rhum agriocole and others substantially in St. Barts and St. Martin. I will report when I return, telling everyone what can be found and where, as I move through my travels. Ed's books are great guides, and I will use them to see if anything has changed. I am not sure how much time I will spend on St. Martin, but the total trip is 12 days, 2 are travel days. I will miss you all at the competition, but I will be there next year! Report to follow............. :)

Sint Maarten / Saint Martin and St Barts has a plethora of rums which are locally bottled. The best place I know to try as many as possible is the Match supermarket just north of the marina in Marigot, on the French side. In the far corner of the store there is usually a table of local products. Happy tasting.

The older supermarkets sometimes have bottles that have been forgotten and I've found some real bargains. Ram's usually has Havana Club Reserva, which I stock up on while I'm on the Dutch side.

And while in Anguilla, stop by the Pump House in Sandy Ground for some good rum cocktails in an historic setting.
