Got something on my mind. Darker rum(goslings, myers, blackstrap) has to get some if its coloring from Carmel. Now what is the source of the carmel? I was drinking natural soda the other day and it said "carmel coloring(from sugar cane)". Do distillers add a bit of molasses to the rum to give it that dark color? Or is it good old corn syrup thats been burnt a little bit. I know this question is rough given different views on additives lately, but I figured we could all agree some rums have carmel added.
