Hello Everyone,

I'm heading down to Washington today for a meeting and was wondering if you could direct me to any location that sells an assortment of good Rums? Yes this 'is' an urgent matter so put your thinking caps on...

Cheers,
Adam

What area of Washington?
For Seattle there's this thread (http://www.ministryofrum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1975) about bars in Seattle that also includes information on the best stores in the city to buy rum.

curoswiss, if you're heading down for a day trip and are paying the duties, could you let us know how much they are these days? If reasonable I might make a trip to Bellingham at some point soon.

Sorry I got to this a bit late. In my experience, the three best Wa State liquor stores in the area for rum are: Fourth Ave, a blocks or two south of Safeco Field. Also, on the foot of Queen Anne on First Avenue North, just north of the west entrance of Key Arena. There is also a decent store on 15th Ave North around 80th Street. There may be a few others with deeper than usual stocks of rum, but I haven't found them.

There's no real way to know which store has what unless you just go there.
You can call in advance and ask, but frequently it's best just to take the tour and see what they have. For the best selection, and if you only have time for one, the store on Fourth Ave South is probably your best bet. Frustratingly, they all stock a bit differently, and one may consistently carry something that a more convenient location refuses to bring in.

1. SEATTLE-4TH AVE SOUTH
1702 4TH AVE S
SEATTLE WA 98134-1502

2. SEATTLE-QUEEN ANNE
515 1ST AVE N
SEATTLE WA 98109-4523 Mon-Sat 10:00-8:00
Sun 12:00-5:00

3. SEATTLE-CROWN HILL
7740 15TH AVE NW
SEATTLE WA 98117-5413 Mon-Sat 11:00-7:00

Check below for more details. You can call them and ask what they have in stock; often enough, they don't really know! Have fun. You willfind something to enjoy, and needless to say, it will generally be much better priced than in Canada.

Amen to that Lew.

My experience with liquor stores in Washington are that the best ones I have found are in Bellingham on Lakeview Dr and the one on Crown Hill.

Both are rum friendly but I think the one on Crown Hill is a little more so. I was there several months ago and they had a great selection of Latin rums (Cacique, FDC line, and both Barrilitos). The manager advised me that they usually have a lot as there is a popular Latin restaurant nearby as well as a Latin community.

It makes sense that they'd have a ood one in Bellingham for the benefit of our Canadian Washingtonians!:D
