I get the point, but I would toss in a few other places for rum as well.

Comes down to individual taste I guess, but personally I didn't rate Guatemala that highly as a rum country when I visited.

The Zacapa 23 is nice at first but gets old fast. Botran Solera rum is a worthy alternative. Both are a bit sugary for me though.

Also, I didn't find rum had the same ubiquity in Guatemala as in the Caribbean - or at least the bits I've visited. Rum just wasn't right there at the center of the culture. Also, few bars served good mixed drinks. It wasn't like Cuba where literally every little bar seems to mix a decent Mojito or Daiquiri.

I did think Guatemala had great food, nice architecture, and plenty to see and do. I wouldn't go there for the rum though.

Apples and Oranges. Can't imagine a daiquiri with zacapa being all that palatable. I don't puff but where would you go for the lovely women?glass.gif
