Hi guys, FYI, Rumdog 46 has completed re-sized all the photos on my site so that it loads much faster and is more user friendly.
Thank you very much Chris. Now even I can enjoy it!!

That's much better, there's nothing like website photos to load. There are other things that can be done but they are beyond the discussion on this forum.

Much improved Bob!

In the past a number of pictures on some pages just would not load on my computer and other pages would even crash my browser.

Now I can enjoy your site the way it should be. Thanks!

awesome rummelier, one of my computers was crashing loading your site before, but it could be from salivating at all the rum.

That is certainly a good improvement though thumbnails for full sized pictures would be even better!

On another note the site displays differently in FireFox and Internet Explorer. In FireFox the menu is a bit difficult to use and read. You might want to play around with the
a.NavBar CSS settings. Padding margin and height for instance...

Count, I'm not sure those options are available to me but I will check. I noticed on my wife's computer the problem with the nav bar but I thought it was just because it was a Mac!!

The options should be available to you as I checked them from the CSS code of your websites template. You just need to find the CSS file and the appropriate parts in it (the options under a.NavBar in the CSS I guess) and change them, save it and reupload it to your server (Make sure to take a backup copy of the original CSS file you're going to edit).

In my opinion if you change the a.NavBar settings to the values given in the example below, looks better in FireFox but then again I don't know how it will look in Internet Explorer 6, 7 or 8 so you need to experiment. The goal is to try to make it look the same in every browser. Again, take backup copy of the CSS file you're going to edit incase something goes wrong.

a.NavBar {
background-image:url(http://webhosting.web.com/imagelib/sitebuilder/layout/temp_01_2.gif);
background-repeat:no-repeat;
color:#000000;
font-family:Tahoma;
font-size:12px;
font-weight:bold;
height:20px !important;
margin-top:8px;
padding:5px 0px 0 13px;
text-decoration:none;

Bob

I have been through your site as much as I can, read just about every line, and learned so much from it. With that said, for those of you who have not been to his site, you need to make a point to sit back with a nice glass of your favorite rum, and read as much as you can, very very very informative.

Thanks Bob

Gary

Thanks very much Gary. Those comments make it all worth while. You are not the only one who has learnt a lot. It has made me much more knowledgeable about what I pour in my glass everyday. Also I have met some great people because of it, and even more here at the MOR. Hopefully I will get to meet many more in person in the coming years. Last week in Puerto Rico was a great example of this. I can't wait for Robert Burr's Rum Renaissance in Miami and have already booked the time off work!! See you all in Miami hopefully.
*Special thanks to rumdog46 for all his help with site which I have neglected a little recently to get my other site started. I will be back in force soon.*

oops.gif Hey Bob,
Correction I'm the guy that likes the old Planters Gold XO Reserve not that swill Patron screwed up and renamed PYRAT XO Reserve. I only correct you cause I wouldn't want the good people of MOR to think my palet so unedgufied as to like PYRAT gzzg

Hey Count,

Unfortunately Bob is using a WYSIWYG editor that is supplied thru register.com when you login and doesn't give you options to do any CSS altering in the least bit. It's a very basic online editor that doesn't give you much room for cross browser compatability.

Sorry, Rumdog 46 I forgot it used to be called that. I must sit down one night and sample them both together, and see what differences I can pick up.

Register.com is very basic, but good for computer illitrates like me!!

You'd need to get to the actual .CSS file on the server via FTP or something...

Hey Bob,
Big difference in the two rums. Planters Gold Rum Xo Reserve was quite good at least in my uneducated opinion and PYRAT XO is so so disappointing that you shake your head and ask just WHY? Planters Gold was one of the first better rums I sampled yrs ago that led me down this path of drinking and collection fine rums and if I would have sampled PYRAT XO instead there is a good chance I would never have fell in love with rums and started collecting them today. :]

Amen to that Chris. The guys here have got me drinking Bambarra 8 on coconut water ice cubes tonite. I will compare the Planters and Pyrat tomorrow. I am sending you a Bambarra 8 aswell, hope you enjoy it as much as Rum Runner, Rumdog007 and Forrest. I hope many more people continue to discover the delights of fine rums.
