Does anyone have access to the exact content of what the AOC Martiniue agricole says about rum production rules?

I am particularly interested if it specifically bans the use of any other ingredients in the production process, i.e for example the added flavour ingredients to be put in the new make spirit (or at any part of the process actually).

Perhaps this would help to clarify the fact that rums produced under AOC Martinique agricole do not under any circumstances get their taste from added ingredients, but only from rum distillate that ages in previously used barrels of cognac (and bourbon?).

There's a really detailed thread somewhere on here that we were discussing around a year ago that should give you what you need.

To save you some time, the AOC regs are so detailed they specify the maximum permitted grinders in the sugar refinery so they certainly forbid the use of flavourings and additives.

AOC regulations do not permit the addition of flavoring to rhum agricole. It should be noted that the AOC regulations for rhum agricole only affect that rhum made in Martinique and not all rum made in Martinique is AOC rhum agricole.

Rene van Hoven has the complete AOC Martinique regulations in French as well as in English on his site here (http://www.rumpages.com/General/Index/Index.htm). Click on Rhum Agricole on the left side of the opening page.

Thank you very much for this information! This is also good news for rum I feel. I must say I am very pleased to see La Mauny as one of those who conform to this "pure method", they make a great-tasting rum without additives.
