I know 0 about rum other than I love it...

I was given a bottle of Trois Rivieres 1975 over 10 years ago . HELP! is it still good to drink?cheers.gif and is this a good year?

Any information would be great.

my best guess is that if it's sealed it's probably great to drink, and it's probably better now that it has aged longer, i don't think rum goes bad unless its open and sitting around.

It seems to be accepted fact that rum doesn't age in the bottle. See Rum 101 at the left.

If the contents aren't oxidized, then it should be very interesting. cheers.gif

You should have a very interesting bottle there. One that is almost certainly no longer available.

Vintage is not so much a concern in spirits as it is in wine. When a year of distillation is stated, equally important is the date it was bottled. Can you provide us with that?

As Michael stated, as long as the bottle was stored properly and not too much of the contents lost, you could have a nice experience on your hands.
