Rum Renaissance Miami (http://www.rumrenaissance.com)
May 13 to 17, 2009
I am pleased to announce some preliminary details of the upcoming Rum Renaissance festival in Miami, to be held at the Shore Club, Delano and Mondrian resorts in Miami Beach, May 13 to 17, 2009.
I expect this to be the largest gathering of rum experts ever from Europe, the Caribbean Islands and from across the United States, with an incredible number of rum brands and labels representing every rum making territory in the world.
There will be seminars for the trade and professionals, special accommodations for the beverage press, authors and rum bloggers, competitions for mixologists, as well as programs for consumers, a large exhibition space for rum companies and a series of VIP parties surrounding the pools, in the night clubs and in select venues around town.
Mark your calendars now to be in Miami after Mother's Day and before Memorial Day. Accommodations are available from five star suites to very affordable rooms, all within steps of the action on the beach.
I'll be sending out more information to those on my GiftedRums.com (http://www.giftedrums.com/GiftedRumsList.html) email list. You're welcome to sign up to be kept in the loop.

Count us in! The Reedo and I are gonna tear up chunks of Miami for a few days!
Too bad that I already bought my ticket planes to go to Florida for Easter. I would have really liked attending this event.

If you lose your return ticket, you'll have to stay until you "find" it.

Just one idea I would like to pass on for consideration. Can we set up an area, booth, where the Ministry of Rum Forum Members can meet up during this event? Maybe just a sign or something, I missed so many members in London, even though I went around looking at every name tag I could find.
I look forward to meeting you all, finally, viva Miami!!hi.gif

That is a great idea. It would be good to have a Ministry central location, which will make it easier to meet other members of this forum.
Question: Will the Ministry rum competion be moved to this event instead of the Tales? I guess this question is for Ed.

Yes, we'll have a designated place and some designated events for MOR members at Rum Renaissance, including the competition. Contact Ed to request being a judge.

Hi Robert,
Is there any chance you will be compiling the seminars onto a video or podcast for those of us unable to attend? I'd pay a few shackles to get my hands on that ;)
Similarly some consideration for international shipping for launched products that are hard to come by, limited releases and the like.
What am I saying....do you know anyone that has a private jet that will collect me any fly me and my new cellar home?
