I just finished my last can of Regatta ginger beer and my last bottle of El Dorado 5 year old. I really enjoyed those two mixed with ice and a healthy squeeze of lime. All this work is making me thirsty.

That is a combo I would like to try. Where do you find Regatta?

Regatta Ginger Beer isn't widely distributed yet, but here's the Regatta Ginger Beer (http://www.regattagingerbeer.com/) website.

I recently retried El Dorado 5YO at one of our Friday afternoon work tastings. It was so good we did it two weeks in a row. We started mixing it with coke but ended up drinking it straight on the rocks, as it was so smooth. Also it is a bargain at the price and is proving to be the best seller out of the four we carry. We don't have many Guyanese here but this seems to be their favourite and now one of mine.

That sounds refreshing and we'll have to try it tonight. El Dorado 5 had found use mostly as a mixer to this point.

We located some Regatta (bevmo) and found our new Dark 'n Stormy standby. The label indicates 'fructose' instead of 'cane sugar', but the fresh taste with no HFCS residue is probably the same.

I just bug the last can out of the trash, good thing I was too busy to take it out today, and the ingredients are listed as: sparkling filtered water, cane sugar, natural ginger extracts and other natural flavors, citric acid, . . .

Is it possible that there is different labeling for California?

I don't know about label differences in California, but the drink was a delicious combination, with just the right amount of complexity while remaining very refreshing.

Thanks Ed for the recommendation. glass.gif
