Chaps,
Any and all of you coming to London for the RumFest are cordially invited to a rum-fuelled knees up at our bar the night before the show.
Friday 24th October from 4pm
IPBartenders
Unit 114, Buspace Studios
Conlan Street
Ladbroke Grove
NW London

For a few hours we'll be laying on cocktails, allowing free and open access to the 250 rums behind the bar then heading into the official RumFest exhibitors party in town. Just drop me an email at paul@ipbartenders.com to let me know you're coming.
I'm looking forward to it gents. It will be an enormous pleasure to meet those of you I haven't met, and to host those of you I have. See you soon.
Paul

Really Paul, it is like a knife, and you just keep poking me.

Like Paul, I look forward to meeting more of the forums members in London at this and the other events. I'l be the tall guy without the British accent.

I don't know how to make it up to you Forrest, but mark my words, one day I will.

I'll be there in spirit if not in body. Bye the Bye...The Brit's don't have the accent...We do!

Damn!! I wish I could join you on the Friday but unfortunately I'll be on holiday.
I fly back from Mexico on the Saturday afternoon, arriving back in London on the Sunday morning so I've got just enough time to head home from Heathrow, drop my bags off and then dash to the venue for the second day!
Hope to see some of you at the event!

Well..you i have already spoken too..another time Paul, and i wish you all great fun! Btmup.gif
Hmmm...if I mention that I'll be there, I run the risk of giving you adequate time to have someone there to bar me from entry...

In some circles, venturing to the IP Bartenders HQ for a special rum event where you can have your way with their select stock of rare rums is like a pilgrimage to Mecca with 72 virgins -- only better.
I'll be there if it means rowing a boat across the Atlantic.

Dood and messrs Burr, if I had to find 72 virgins to persuade you to come I'd scour west London to find them in spite of the slim chances I could actually find any.
Sorry you can't be there Gato, well make it up to you with a rum orgy at the fest

Totally unnecessary.
I'd settle for 42.

Do you need any crew??
I'm actually flying BA out of Miami and wish I had known about the Atlantico Rum Tasting before I booked my flight as I fly thru this Friday on the way to Rumfest, so could have overnighted like last time. Oh well I'll just have to save my tastebuds for London.cheers.gif

Bob, stop by the house for some Atlantico. Robin will be here. The Atlantico office is within spitting distance, so stop by and say hello in person to Aleco and Brandon.
I'm bringing a few bottles of Atlantico to London for friends.
Rum Dood, they were asking about you today. I think some rum is on the way to you.
Also coming to London: new Diplomatico Blanco and Hacienda Saruro Sweet Dream Liqueur.

I got the Atlantico newsletter too, it seems like a really interesting new rum. I might take my rowing boat and row to Roberts house. :)

Chaps I'm going to have to move the date of our pre-rumfest get together. There just isn't enough hours available on that Friday considering what else is going on....
Because the RumFest tasting competition and the Exhibitors party is on the Friday, we're going to have our IPB Bar get together on the Saturday night, after the show shuts at 7pm. I figure we get something to eat then head for some more rum....
9pm Saturday 25th October at the IPB Bar
Hope this is still ok for all

Should be fine for me atleast, Paul. So there is no program on Friday? Exhibitors party is for the exhibitors and press then I assume?

Thanks for the update Paul. I will see what happens after the Rumfest as I have some friends coming down from sunny North Wales. I think they want to drink lots of beer after the Rumfest, if they are still standing, and I wouldn't want them mixing a rum and coke with an Appleton 21 year old!!
A potentially free night in London? What the heck am I supposed to do with myself? ;)

Dood, I think we should ask Paul to leave the key under the mat and we will guard their rum collection for them while they go and party with the other guys!!g()fy

Guys, you are all invited to the exhibitor party - I forgot to mention.
There's no way we'll leave you to your own devices. God knows what damage might be dealt to my poor city. I want you all to stay in touch and we'll keep you full of rum and good times for the duration of your stay

Riiiiiight gentlemen, the Pre-RumFest Party is now back on tomorrow night from around 6pm at the IPBartenders Office.
The official exhibitors party has been canned, so I'm going to get some everyone over to my place after the tasting competition at Artesian.

This event at IP Bartenders laboratory (boy's club if you ask Paul) was a blast. We literally had our way with one of the largest collections of fine rums in the world. We sipped, made cocktails, tried various mixers, blended a few favorites and rifled through all the rare books of drink recipes.
Then we ordered pizza.
Afterward, the night continued with a visit to the world-famous Trailer Happiness bar at 177 Portabello in West London for outstanding drinks, including a flaming volcano of Zombie ordered by Mr. Burr Junior. It was a dramatic fire and brimstone event, a sort of cross between the Forth of July, Mount Vesuvius and a King Kong movie on acid.
When we closed that place, we went next door to Jake's Portabello Star, where the very talented Jake Burger made me one of the finest Daiquiris I've ever tasted. When we closed Jake's, it was back to the hotel for a nightcap of Atlantico before slipping off to slumberland.
Indeed. I can't quite get over how generous our hosts were in London. Such a fantastic time from start to finish.
