At this time all of my books are out of print, though you will see them listed on Amazon. Triumph books sold about 500 books to resellers a few years ago and I didn't have a chance to buy them so you may find a copy of The Complete Guide to Rum from a reseller.
There are also copies of Rums of the Eastern Caribbean being offered through Amazon at some considerable prices for which I have no control.
When my next book is available it will be offered here at a discount to members of this forum.

Wow! Over $800 on Amazon for a copy.
What are you working on for the next one?

I was doing an interview yesterday and the reporter asked me why my book as being offered for over $800 on Amazon. I wish I had some first edition books to sell, but I wouldn't offer them for $800. If I find some in a closet I'll offer them to forum members to just a small premium over the original price of $20.
The next book is about rum, which should be no surprise, I'm working on a couple of titles, the inComplete Guide to Rum is one option.

A while ago I was able to pick up a resale of the Complete Guide to Rum from Amazon at a reasonable price. I also found a copy of Rums of the Eastern Caribbean that was a library copy, a signed first addtion for under $20. This copy has some slight stains on the pages, and you can tell they were a little wet at one time. I am hoping that it was rum that was spilled on the pages! All the others were priced very high. The books are very informative, and have helped considerably in building my collection, and my tasting of rum. The story about the Garden was great! I am looking forward to the next book!

Any updates on a pending book? Any chance or getting any of your earlier works reprinted? Do you have rights to the original content etc.? I have no experience in publishing, but I figured in this day and age it would be easy to order a batch. If funding is a problem I am sure you could get some pre-order dollars flowing from this site alone.:D

First, I own the copyright and content of my previous works so that isn't a problem.
Before I published my first book in '95 I was told by several of the old hands at the Chicago Bookseller's Convention, "You've got a nice idea and some nice pictures but you don't get it. There are no books on rum."
"Right," I replied, "you don't get it."
I self published my first book and went on to publish two more books through two publishers and another self published book.
The next book is in the works. I'm working on it every day, but I don't want to just republish an old book. Over the years I've been told that everything worth doing the takes time to do it right. As you probably guessed by now, I haven't listened to all the advice I've been given.
I just noticed that this thread was started more than 2 years ago.
I can hear it from here, "So where's the book already?" I guess I need to just get off my ass, quit flying around the country, UK, Europe, Central and South America drinking rum and enjoying myself. I've also been on Southwest Airlines a-list for frequent flyers ever since they instituted that program, but that's another story.
What I can say is that your patience will be rewarded. And that isn't just another idle threat. Active forum members will be given a discount on the new edition. Stay tuned.

I appreciate it Ed. There are times where I'd be desperate for a good rum book but at this stage Im willing to wait (with a cocktail in hand of coarse!) for when you are happy with the product. Keep doing what you're doing, its working out great and the forums brighten me up each time I log on.

I'm making some slow progress, but not as quickly as I'd like, one of the problems is that their is more information coming to me all the time and I don't want to leave anything out.
As for reprinting the old editions, that isn't going to happen. But I was told yesterday that someone in Chicago had some of my early edition books. I'll be following that up and see if I can make them available on this site.

Ed, I'm looking forward to the book. I just picked up a Kindle and am enjoying the hell out of it. Hopefully your publisher will offer an ebook edition.
Thanks for the site, books, and knowledge that you share with us all.
