shopping in st. croix

i have a friend going to st. croix in november and he said he has a couple of empty drink slots if i have any requests. so i was wondering if anybody knows any good places to buy rum on the island, preferably with a decent selection. thank you in advance.

Depending on whether your friend is going a cruise ship or will be staying on the island a few days will determine whether he will be in Fredrickstead or Christiansted or possibly both. I've found the selection slightly better in Christiansted but you never know what you'll find looking in the many small shops in either of these colonial towns.

I would look for some of the rums that aren't readily available in the US such as selections from the Dominican Republic and down island. Bermudez and Barcelo are two names to look for. It is impossible to say what is going to be available on any given day, but in any case there are some very good values on St Croix, even if you only make it to one of the many grocery stores.

thanks for your reply. as far as i know he's taking his wife down for 2 weeks and they're flying down i'll ask where he is staying if that helps. also any recommendations in the above mentioned brands?
