Unfortunately I'm one of the many websurfers who continue to use a dial up connection. Still the Ministry was loading at a reasonable pace until recently and I couldn't figure out why.

Then I noticed the Google Map addition to the home page, and watched the progress info on my browser and discovered that, yes indeed, it is the Google Map that takes up noticeable bandwidth and transmission time. To the point that I sometimes just give up.

Ed, I believe there are more of us old fashioned, cheapskate surfers than you may think and if I may make a suggestion - perhaps the Google Map could be simply noted and linked, to occupy a page of its own?

This would give us slow guys and gals easy, fast access to home, and still make the Google available to those who are interested or have the fast access. I for one would greatly appreciate it...

Bill..May I suggest your post be placed in "site help" as opposed to this thread?

Thanks for your comments. I know about slow connections and will look at what I can do to lower the bandwidth on the front page. While you're waiting for me you might try bookmarking one of the other pages and entering the site from there.

I've changed the map to a static image that links to the next rum index page. If you are on dial-up that page will still be a little slow to open but the front page should be a lot faster.

If you're interested it isn't the image itself that makes the map slow to download it's the script that loads all of the data contained on the map.

Thanks for the comments, I try hard to minimize bandwidth on this site.
