Hello to all Members,

I'm a new member and I'd like to ask you if someone has made the same experience like some friends of mine (including myself) when tasting Clement Canne Bleue and Clement Premiere Canne: Having the typical fresh and soft taste when you open the bottle an on the next day, when trying again, the rum seems to have a rather sharp odor and the variety and complexity seems to have vanished.
Are there any explanations for this and/or is this a common problem with Rhum Agricole?
Thanks for your statements and have a good day!
Martin

Martin, I tried this experiment last night and today. I could not duplicate your finding. My "second day" nose and taste were exaxtly the same as the new previosly unopened bottle which I cracked tonight.

Then our experience maybe was the result of any insteadiness during the production process of one single charge, maybe only sold in Europe. Anyway, thanks for your effort!

This is definitley not commonplace with agricole in my experience. I presently have open bottles of a number of Clement rums, including Premier Canne,
and I don't have any unopened to try to give you a fresh opinion. Could be an off bottle,or bottling, but in the French Islands they are pretty particular about quality of thier agricoles.cheers.gif
