In our elegant little town of Coral Gables, founding father George Merrick became a grapefruit millionaire in 1910, then built his idealistic city based on his vision of castles in Spain. Our free trolley runs up and down Ponce de Leon Boulevard, offering the pedestrian easy access to more than 150 restaurants, gourmet shops and bars. Here's our ode to the Coral Gables Trolley:

Gables Trolley
1.5 oz Temptryst Ruby Red Rum
.75 oz Clement Creole Shrubb
.5 ounce cane syrup
.5 ounce fresh sugar cane juice
.25 ounce fresh key lime juice

mix ingredients in tumbler and smother with coconut water ice cubes.

ding ding... enjoy the ride.

I had to look up Clement Creole Shrubb - haven't seen that one yet and it sounds intriguing; alas there appears to be no retailers in NY.

That drink is a real winner Rob! i just wish the ingredients were available..

Temtryst Ruby Red..
Clement Creole Shrubb..
fresh key lime juice..

What can i sub these with?

Key limes are not the same as Persian Limes..maybe i should mix fresh P lime juice with a hint of Kalamansi juice for a interesting effect?
Creole Shrubb - make my own?
Temtryst Ruby Red? - try to make a swap with Daniel?

Sounds like there's always a reason to make another drink in Coral Gables in the summer.

The orange-flavored Creole Shrubb is available in New York. Contact Ben Jones at 212-682-2477 for directions.

Yes, we depend on Daniel for the excellent Ruby Red rum and I know of no substitution. I hope it will be available soon for everyone who wants it. The key limes are unique, but Persian limes could be substituted.

I just discovered a new source for coconut water. One Natural Experience’s 100% Natural Coconut Water (http://www.onenaturalexperience.com/)

This cocktail is excellent. Congrats to my son Robert for his inspiration and recognition of how these two rums and fresh ingredients go together so well.
