Congratulations to Angelsword again. You seem to have a ton of good rums!

Angelsword submitted a number of rums, several of which were very well received. I expect that he will continue to improve the quality of his flavored rums and look forward to tasting them in the future.
There were several other notable rums from El Dorado, Mount Gay and others. The cacahaca category also received generally higher marks this year.
A total of 19 spiced and flavored rums were judged with several new entries made by the makers of Abuelo rums in Panama.
This was the third year I've conducted the tasting competition and was very pleased with the quality of the rums submitted and the dedication of all of the judges who participated. Here's a partial list of the judges (http://www.ministryofrum.com/forums/../2008judges.php).

Thank you! We got seven gold medals in all. mostly in the dark and aged rum categories plus one more for my Tropical Light. But like Ed suggests, none yet for my flavored rums.

Now, it is time to bring them to market!!!gzzg
Great list of results. I just have one question. Were there any agricoles entered, and if so what were they and how did they fare? Is it possible to see all the entries?
I've (finally) posted a write-up of the competition here (http://www.rumdood.com/archive/2008/07/21/tale-of-the-cocktail-2008-ministry-of-rum-tasting-competition.aspx).
Also, if you really want to read up on all the goings-ons in New Orleans, be sure to peruse the TalesBlog (http://talesblog.com), where over 30 contributing bloggers have banded together to document the events there.
I had a great time, and will definitely be back next year...even if Ed does go through with that restraining order.

I didn't enter my agricole. Depaz got a Silver. All judges were asked not to mention any products that did not get an award.
