Welcome Ms. Spence! It is an honour and a pleasure to be in your company here.
I've always been curious how the distiller and blender bring a product to the market. Can you give an overview of how you proceed from concept to bottle?

The development of rums is market driven. We have a new product development team that comes up with a concept and then I develop prototypes based on the team’s brief and then these prototypes are tested and then the product is brought to market.

Dear Joy, as a follow up, can you give us an idea of the market trends that Appleton views as favourable to it's rums?

The trend that is most favourable to us is the growth in the premium aged rum category. Appleton Estate Jamaica Rum is a range of premium aged rums so the increase in popularity of premium aged rums and the level of activity that is currently taking place in the category is something that we view as positive.
