I mentioned in another thread that during the summer I might smoke more than one on the weekend. In the late morning or early afternoon, I enjoy a lighter cigar. I started this thread to pick the brains of other members, to gather opinions and suggestions as to what cigars people are smoking in this vain. Since I smoke a number of medium to full and full bodied cigars, I find it hard to fine milder cigars that deliver much flavor and depth. Now, when it comes to Habanos, it seems that they can deliver the goods and not be as full bodied. But, my selection and access is limited, so I tend to choose the fuller bodied Habanos, if I have a chance at all to have them. So, here is what I think so far as to milder smokes that I like:

Cusano Cuvee Blanc, all sizes, mild
Drew Estate Liga Privada #9, medium
Camacho Select Torpedo, medium
Cuaba, all sizes, mild to medium
Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure Maduro, medium

Of course, what is mild, medium or full bodied can be subjective according to one's personal tastes.cigar.gif

Mild to medium strength is what I smoke most often, as well. My favorite morning cigars are Ocaso (the old RyJ/Hollco-Rohr blend), Diamond Crown, Fuente Hemingway Signatures, and Cuban ERdM Choix Supremes.

After golf/lunch favorites include Padron Aniversario Coronas, Don Carlos No.3, Cuban Monte Especiales No.1, and Diplomaticos No.5. Any of these with a bottomless glass of Pampero Aniversario would amount to a perfect afternoon.

In an absolute sense the Red Labels and '64s are medium bodied, but if somebody likes mild cigars, I don't think either of those really fits the description. I mean, you wouldn't hand an '64 Anniversary or Tatuaje of any description to somebody who asked for a lighter smoke, would you? If so, my taste is changing.g()fy

LEW,
If some one asked for a lighter cigar I would suggest one in my mild list. If some one asked for a medium bodied smoke I would suggest one from my medium bodied list.

I don't mean to sound like an a** but that's why I listed it in that way.

I guess it's all in how you read the topic,

Cigars that are Mild and or approach medium or...
Mild cigars and Medium bodied cigars.....

What ever...

Any ways all good suggestions.

No offense intended or taken! The smilie wasn't to suggest you were crazy; rather that I am! I get the distinction now that you mention it. Mild..OR...medium!

Thanks for all the input, gents. I already had a few Hemingways, I consider those in the medium range. I will try a few others.
Myself, I would put the 64's at more medium to full. The Tatuaje Havana VI with the red label I would definetly say is medium, but the original brown label is absolutely full bodied, IMHO.
I have a size sampling of Pete Johnsons new Riqueza line, said to be in the medium range. I will let you know how these taste.

I find most of the H Upmann range fit the bill when a lighter smoke is required.

I would like to hear your opinion on the Riqueza. Please post a review if you can and if you would, compare to the other Tats.

I did post some notes on the Riqueza, but being the idiot that am am, I do not know how to post a link to that post. I am really computer illiterate.
Look in the rum and cigar forum, you will find it.
