Hello From California

Hi,

I'm a spirits and cocktail enthusiast from San Francisco, CA.

Rum is good and I like Rum.

But the more I learn, the less it seems like I know about it.

It is certainly one of the largest categories of distilled spirits, being made around the world to completely different standards in each country.

At least with Bourbon, you know where it comes from and how it is made!

I'm looking for answers, information, and exciting new ways to use the steadily growing collection of bottles in my basement.

rumdog007, I don't get down to Southern California too often, so I was trying to think of why Costa Mesa sounded familiar. Then I remembered I've ordered from Hi-Times Wines a couple times.

Ah, HiTimes! Within walking distance of my home, I often attend their tastings, too. In addition to the excellent selection of wine and spirits, they can be counted on to get the odd mixers, syrups, bitters, and soft drinks. :D

I suspect that many Californians who love rum have made Hi-Time a regular stop, whether by foot, phone or internet. Although I can't comment on the wine selection, the range of spirits and cocktail necessities is the best we've found.
