Octane boost?

Following up the filteration question, is there any plans by DDL to release anything at slightly higher abv (92є-100є) and perhaps unfiltered?

My rationale for the thought is obviously private UK bottlers such as Cadenhead and Murray McDavid are capitalizing on the single malt phenomenon & following (with-in rums they have bottled) that gravitates towards unfiltered, less watery... (I believe the positive spin is "purer") spirit.

I think it would be a great marketing boost for a major distiller such as DDL to put the same philosophy into play in a distillery bottle.

Note: I should add that my inquiry pertains to commercially available product in the U.S. - Admittedly I don't know what the distillery releases or has its hands in domestically or on other soil.

Although not quite on point, when comemplating an octane boost, it might be worth noting that DDL does release an excellent overproof, El Dorado Superior High Strength Rum, our favorite so far with Ting, lime and bitters.

I`m awaiting that rum..:D and when i get it, first thing to do will be to pair it with Ting, lime and bitters..

I love that with the JW&N overproof rum so i believe i will love it with this rum as well! i wonder what the taste difference is between those 2 op rums?

We are constantly looking at new types of rum products which will be of interest to our customers and there are many ideas that we are working on at the present time, but your suggestions will be looked at most seriously.

I don't want to divert this thread too far from the original topic, but we tried the JW&N overproof and the ED overproof in the same drink with a bottle of Ting, a measure of rum, 1/4 tsp Stirrings Blood Orange Bitters (the only orange bitters we have), ice and a squeeze of lime. The two overproof rums were also tasted neat side by side.

While both overproof rums make a delicious cocktail, the ED overproof is richer tasting and makes the preferred cocktail in this case. Tasted neat the ED made the JW&N taste almost like an eau de vie, so great was the contrast in styles.
