The thread on Ting got me to think of other sodas that are tart and good for mixing. I thought of San Paeligrino limonata and orcinata and also Jarritos Toronja. Does anyone else use these or any others?

Apart from Ting i use Sanpellegrino limonata and pompelmo (grapefruit) they are the best even though a bit expensive for such small bottles.

Tiare,
What drinks do you make with the limonata? I'm envious you can get the pompelo. Is that the Israeli grapefruit?

Pompelmo is Sanpellegrinos grapefruit bev just as the limonata is their lemon bev. They are now a staple in my local food shop because i spoke to the shop owner and made him try and taste those beverages and he got so hooked on them that he decided to always carry Sanpellegrino, the whole line.
Maybe worth a try? ;)
I mix it with JW&N overproof rum, lime and ice or Havana Club blanco or 3 years, or Appleton white, or Campari, lime and ice.
But these Pellegrinos are also sooo nice with just some ice..
There is a type of sweet grapefruit called Pomelo but thats a whole different fruit. They are also very nice.

I believe pomelo was the citrus that modern grapefruit was derived from as a hybrid. The Myer Lemon is actually a sour orange derivation considered be one of the best lemons for juice.

Pomelo is commonly available in most Asian markets, and throughout Southeast Asia. The taste and texture say grapefruit but it is much drier (physically).
