Bermudez Rums are being introduced in the United States by C&R Imports & Distribution, a Raleigh, North Carolina-based company owned by Juan Carlos Chirino and Angel Perez, two first-generation Americans of Dominican descent. C&R owns the exclusive rights to import, market and sell Bermudez rums in the United States.

This is good news.

I've liked every Dominican rum that I've tasted and I'm sure Bermudez won't be an exception.
If they follow the trend, I'm sure it will be a very classic rum that's very reasonably priced.

just acquired a bottle of the Bermudez Ron Dorado Seleccion Especiale. At 75 proof, it falls just below the general standard of 80 proof rum.

The House of Bermudez was established in Dominican Republic in 1852, ten years before Bacardi in Cuba. Don Erasmo Bermudez created the formula for the "Bitter Panacea", a popular rum to be enjoyed as an appetizer.

The Dorado is newly available in the US, for about $28. I'll post some notes when I've had a chance to play with it a bit.

i will have to try this one out. kinda sad its such a low proof rum. oh well i guess i will have to get two bottles!
