I have monitored this site for about 2 years since I found it. Finally found one of the premium rums you all seemed to reccommend. Pyrat XO reserve. WOndeful stuff. You are a knowledgeable lot. I cant wait to try some of the others. Very limited selection here. Typical rum N' coke varieties. I like a RnC very much and like Bacardi Black Superior always with a good squeeze of lime. Have lately tried Angostura, flora De Cana, and Cruzon ( i got that in Vancouver) The nearest I can get Pyrat is in Alberta.
I am a hunter and trap shooter who enjoys wild game meals and sharing the bounty with friends.
I am a geophysics/electronics tech at the University of Saskatchewan and have been on some interesting projects. I love to travel and explore when I can, and shoot competitively at the same time if I can.
I like a nice port after meals and am searching out nice ones there too.

So another lurker reveals himself. Welcome to the rum forums. I'm confident you'll find more of what you're looking for here.
Welcome eh? nice to see another Canuck rum lover especially in the Prairies.
Next time your in Regina...try finding London Dock dark rum...pretty good and nice price. I stocked up last time I was there in 2006.

Right on about th elondon dock. I read about that on this thread and right before Xmas our store had London Dock, Gosslings black seal and havanna club. All new to Saskatchewan.
The london dock didnt last long. Very good with with coke and lime and great for stiff ones. Doesnt overpower the whole flavour of RnC. Gosslings was good too.
Once on the net I looked up eldorado and the distributor said its available in vancouver. Do you know where they stock it. I usually get out to richmond to shoot at the gun club there. The current canadian Champ who is goingto the olympics is a 19 yr old from Surrey.
If you know where to get the eldorado I would appreciate the location so I can arrange a bottle or two.

Glad you you like the London Dock....I just wish they stocked it here in BC.
The El Dorado is a great choice as well. Unfortunately I don't know what liquor stores in Surrey would have it. I know which stores in Coquitlam / Maple Ridge have it but not Surrey.
In Vancouver the main liquor store at 41st / Cambie St should have it.
Bad News.....I just spoke to a contact at the local signature liquor store (signature stores are the specialty stores) and the El Dorado has been discontinued due to poor sales. A check of their database revealed that none of the LMD stores are showing any ED in stock.

Welcome Lloyd.
Best place to buy El Dorado or any rum in Canada is in Nova Scotia (Nova Scotia Liquor Board) as they are the biggest rum buyers in Canada and have the lowest prices as they have a flat tax system (same tax on all similar sized bottles). In Ontario, the higher the price is on a bottle the higher the tax. Example, El Dorado 21yo is $109 in Ontario vs $76 in Nova Scotia.

Weird El Dorado is all over Alberta now, I picked up a 21 year for $70 at Sherbroke in Edmonton
