Yes, if you were restricted (desert island, captivity...) and you could only have two different sipping rums to go with ALL your cigars, yes tragic, what would you choose?

El Dorado (http://www.refinedvices.com/content/view/74/1/) just because its so damn good. Second rum would be something less heavy. Cigar brands would be unlimited though?

Oh yes, any and all cigars you smoke now or intend to smoke. What's will be your second choice?

Even though that's 2 from Guyana, I'd probably still agree :)

Welcome to the XM10 love in...........it's getting crowded in here

El Dorado 15, Neisson XO.

Likewise on the El Dorado 15, though the other one's going to have to be Barbancourt 5-star. Is there any ice on this island, perchance?

Cheers!
PS - I don't smoke cigars either, does that entitle me & Tiare to an extra rum? ; )

La Favorite Vieux, the spicy finish stands up to most cigars. The other rum would probably be something like El Dorado 15 or their 21, if I was rich.

From my limited Rum exposure I like both the 15 and 21yo Eldorados.

I hope non-cigar smokers are entitled to more rum, because I have never quite acquired the taste. Even if I had, I would give it up for more rum.

I forgot to add that on this island the non-cigar smokers were to first to go ;)

Do you mean we would have to leave this island because we don`t smoke cigars? i thought we were to be getting extra rum??

No, I am sorry but during the night the non-cigar smokers disappeared. We think the natives are somehow involved...

:eek::eek: So who is left then? only the cigar smokers??

Yes, just cigar smokin' rum sippin folks left. I could talk to Hank about sending a search party after were done with our cigars to find the non-smokers. Till then we contemplate the two rums we can keep.

We could only send the most sober of our group to search.............

I really enjoy the Jamaican Rums with my cigars. But the Central American Rums go great with Central American Cigar Makers like CAO, Oliva, Camacho, Perdomo, Torano....... and so on.

Of course the search party would not find anything other than the rum the non cigar smoking group had.

Says you...
I thought the non-cigar smokers didn't vanish until nightfall? That amount of time ought to leave you with a few nice bottles :D

Cheers!

I also see how the supply of cigars are unlimited - these "natives" want us to roll them in their jungle cigar factory don't they..?

Thats a good idea! We shall suggest this fantastic idea.

We left for the other island that has all the rum but no cigars. Occassionally we let a few bottles float over to the cigar island.

Me & my rum are totally making the swim over there...
::stuffs half-full bottles into pants:: :p

Wait - that might be a bad plan.. ::lashes empty bottles together & flaots river-raft style to new island:: :D

Cheers!

I swim with my rums stacked on top of my head.

While you non-smokers were able to evade the hunting natives and attempt to swim over to Rum Island we have discovered that the natives over there are even less friendly to non-smokers. Save yourself and take up the cigar before it is too late!

Meanwhile, are there any other cigar smokers who have yet to select their two sipping rums?

Tiare

I wonder who are all the non cigar smokers here? we can all defeat those hostile natives..we just need to be smart.

Fabio

Well, after reading this post I would say that would be fair to allow the non-smokers to sip at least four different rums...these are my choices:
Pampero Aniversaio
Santa Teresa Gran Reserva
Arehucas Reserva Especial
Diplomatico Reserva

I'm with you mate!

It occurs to me that these "hostile" natives couldn't be so bad, at least not for long - after Tiare had cooked something fabulous for them & whipped out rum cocktails alongside the rest of us, we'd likely have allies for life...or a willing army to go pillage the cigar island's rum :D

Cannibals allergic to cigar smoke mate, savvy?

Tiare

Oh they have abandoned cannibalism and become civilized Count.

I'd go with Pampero Aniversario and Cuban Matusalem Anejo Superior.

Do I have to pick just 2?

Some of my favorites

El Dorado 12
Zacapa 23

How many times must we make this tormenting choice? HMMR :D

My taste changes form time to time. It moves me towards certain bottles, away from them and back again. I have been on a Mt Gay XO kick of late, really enjoying the tobacco, leather smoothness of it. I always love my Pampero, and thenwith cigars ED15 seems to hold up better than Zacapa most of the time, but neat and sweat, Zacapa 23 can be a real treat.

I've been working over my bottle of Eleve Sous Bois recently, and starting to get into the grassy barnyard flavor, and the somewhat deeper burn it gives.

But just two? Oh well; Aniversario and....oh damn....ED15 or MGXO. Or maybe the ED and the and the XO, and abandon the Pampero. I think I could get by for a month or two on any one or two of them. The real horror isn't being caught out with only two of my favorites, it would be being left alone without a single one of them! I really have come to enjoy my rum!
