Since it has ceased production - anybody know where to get a few bottles in the US? Want to put a couple away for my young son (named Dillon, naturally)...

Although the distillery is listed as having ceased production in 2005, some rum is apparently being sent to market under the Rhum Dillon name, witness the following listing of Special Order items from the Virginia ABC stores:
http://www.abc.virginia.gov/SpecialOrder/RUM_(IMPORTED).html
The Rhum Dillon listed is as 80 proof and $16.45.
It is interesting to note that the list also includes Sunset Very Strong Rum from St. Vincent at 169 proof. Too bad we can't get them in California.

That Rhum Dillon probably isn't rhum agricole but rather something that Heaven Hill handled quite a few years back. It's my guess that it's a dark-colored rum that was tried around 1999 and didn't sell, for good reason. If you can get a picture of the bottle I could tell you for sure. Dillon wasn't imported in recent years to the US and the 750ml bottle would have been bottled solely for the US market.

I've haven't found any US stores (well internet stores anyway) that have Dillon rhum agricole. You might have to try some UK / European sites for the authentic agricole.

It is my understanding that any true Dillion Rhum left on the market is the last. I returned with a bottle from the Islands last year, a bottle of Rhum Dillion Tres Vieux, and at the time, did not know the distillery was closed.
Too bad, this is a good rhum.
