Can someone describe the taste notes of all the different JM rums?

Blanc- the flavor is what you would expect from a good white agricole. This one has softer edges. It is very good, Neisson and La Favorite are better, IMHO.
Amber- Once again a very good amber agricole, makes a great Ti Punch as does the blanc, slightly softer than other ambers. Neisson ESB is still the best amber IMHO.
VSOP - a delicious aged agricole,(5-6 years, I believe) smoky wood, tropical fruit notes and more. Excellent.
1997 -another delicious agricole, a consistency like cognac, great flavor profile, excellent and pricey.
These are the 4 most readily available. I have tasted a few others in the Islands.
This is the short version. Hope it helps! :D
thanks for the info Hank....I went ahead purchased some Rhum JM VSOP and Gold. Sounds like I have some good ti punches coming....

Have had a brief encounter with the J.M Reserve Speciale a while ago but I'm not able to recall much of what I tasted. But yesterday I opened my 1997 Vintage and it had much in common with Trois Rivieres 1997 - but much more concentrated; Camphor drops, carrot cake, menthol, eukalyptus. The real surprise was the mouth and finish because it was incredibly concentrated and stayed on forever! I can see myself buying it again but it won't be too often at GBP 110,- .
