Here on the north coast, the first day of spring is not determined by the date the big yellow ball crosses some imaginary line. Rather each person's first day of spring is the date the last snow melts from your yard.
Today is my first day of spring. I will celebrate at sunset with a "first kiss" of Mount Gay Extra Old. (a small reward for the task of cleaning up 4 months of accumulated dog poop:eek:)
Is it spring yet where you live?

Here its considered spring when there`s a certain average + temp, i don`t remember what it is but i know its spring now! For me its spring when i see the first yellow coltsfoot flowers..and the light!
I've always believed the first day of Spring is Opening Day at Dodger Stadium and Winter starts when the World Seris ends. Tonight I'm enjoying the Santa Teresa 1796 with a mango/banana/orange mix that is quite tasty !! CHEERS

In NJ we didnt even have snow this year...
I remember childhood blizzards, average winter gave us about 5 feet of the white stuff.
The last 3 years, maybe a combined 2 feet. Global warming anybody?
We dont have spring anymore, we typically go from winter to summer, as temperatures usually go right from the 40s to the 80s. Strangely, its in the high 50s... SPRING!

Growing up in the '60s just across the river from you near Wilmington DE, we had plenty of snow also, the occasional snow day from school, and even skiing at Chadd's Peak! Sad to think what global warming has taken away.
OTOH, Lake Erie doesn't freeze anymore and we get even more snow now as a result, nearly 200 inches this year.

It's definitely spring here in London. The temperature's just dropped by 15 degrees and we've had some more snow:rolleyes:.
