Looks like a great fun event. You do throw a good party!

Rob jr seems to have been promoted since we last met. From the insignia on his arm, is he a sergeant now?

Thats a great picture of me losing at beer pong, haha! Event was a lot of fun, good meeting you, Robert, and Robert, and Hank.

I got to chat with Gary, the distiller from Cruzan for about 15 minutes, he was very informative, and VERY down to earth, good dude!

And Robert, you disappeared the end of the night, was saying bye too your son and you had vanished, much like most of the rum in Ybor city did!

Who's who? Robert, Adam; got your numbers, and a guess at who Hank is.

still waiting for results. 149 rums were entered in the competition. I understand the list of awards is quite long.

Paul,

He wears uniforms almost exclusively. His opinions are more in line with a Benevolent Dictator General, but it's hard to find a patch for that rank.

We really enjoyed meeting Adam and his entourage. Great folks. And Hank as well. Gary from Cruzan was a wealth of good information, giving me increased respect for his products and philosophy to making rum. I slipped out about 2am while you beer pong crazies were whoopin' it up at Gaspar's Grotto. Yes, a lot of rum came into town and a lot of it never left!

Gary Nelthropp is one of the great people in the industry, his family have been making Cruzan rum for generations and it is always a pleasure to spend time with Gary and his family.

I just got the results. Temptryst picked up 5 Golds, including "Best of Category" in dark rums for the Temptryst Reserve. :D:D:D

Your rums kicked some serious butt! I can't believe how many of your rums won top awards. It's amazing. That mad scientist thing is working out real good for you.

Some of my rums may have accidentally been put in the wrong category. I had not intended for any Temptryst rums to be in the 9 yr to 15 yr aged group. But I'm pleased with the gold medals for Applewood and Hickory, especially considering the other competitors.

Well, uniform shirts anyway. And the benevolent dictator thing isn't quite fair, really--you need people to order around to be considered a dictator. But I could be wrong. Benevolent? Depends on my mood. :D

Congrats Daniel. Nicely done!

It was interesting to see Railean also got props! You Tejas boys seem to know how to make rum. All this 'teasing' though needs to stop! Get some rum in the market pipelines!!!

I spoke to, and congratulated, Matt Railean this morning. His rum is on the shelf, but only in Texas.

I lived in the Dallas suburbs for 10 years. I still have a very good friend who lives in University Park (near SMU).

Can you tell me where in that area I might be lucky enough to find Railean Rum and have him send me a bottle?

Railean Rum is available at most liquor stores in the Dallas Area. Your best bet is Goody Goody and/or Sigel's Liquor.

Congratulations Matt. The New American Distillation Revolution is upon us! I am beginning to believe American rum distillers have strong potential in the quality rum uptrend.

Thank you, Matt and Congrats! Ah, Sigels - know it very well (the one on Lower Greenville). Many a dollar "misplaced" in that store.
