After sailing the islands and running into Ed in almost too many ports we've moved ashore for a while in the middle of Florida where the hurricanes don't blow.
Here's the weather from crewsville (http://www.wunderground.com/weatherstation/WXDailyHistory.asp?ID=KFLZOLFO3).

Glad to catch up with you again, welcome to the forums. crewsville and his wife are old rum-drinking friends from the days when I was writing my first book in the south of Grenada.

Welcome! Thanks for the link to your weather station. Weather underground is THE place to be. Especially in "the season".

Of course, this site is THE place to be while we're stocking up for the season.

Crewsville, You're not far from Highland Hammocks State Park, one of my favorite parts of Florida, a bit north north of Henscratch Winery on the Old Cracker Trail, southwest of Sebring, right? Peace River is to your west, near Zolfo Springs. Lots of cows and orange trees in them parts.

You found a spot where no one's gonna bother you.

How the rum selection there? Shopping's probably not bad along US27 near Sebring.

Thanks for the welcome, y'all. We feel right at home here in Crewsville-the closest we could get, on land in Florida, to being out at sea. We brought some of our favorite rums with us, but there are some good tastes available nearby in Sebring.

Crewsville! I grew up in Sarasota, and I have spent a lot of time on my motorcycle out near there. Beautiful place, and I love to ride there when the orange groves are blooming.

I grew up in Sarasota as well.

I'm in the process of opening up Sarasota's first rum distillery.

DO tell!!! I live in Panama city right now, but I am often in SRQ, as my parents and In-laws still reside there.

I really am interested in micro-distilling rum, but I work for the Navy and "Moonshining (illegal distilling)" would really cause me to lose my job.
