Ive got a bottle at home. Tried it once, didnt like it. It is a fine example of a Full bodied Jamaican Pot Still rum, and that is typically not my cup of tea, although I am beginning to appreciate it. I figure Ill hold on to my bottle until I go through a Jamaican Pot Still phase.

The Legend stands alone or on the rocks as a finer sipping rum that Myer's standard planter's rum. I prefer Gosling's Old Rum Family Reserve. Both share a more mature profile that their standard dark cousins. The Myer's Legend does not seem to mature as graciously over time as Gosling's Old or present a more complex blend.

While I will continue to keep Myer's Platinum and Dark on my shelves, I don't see buying another Legend. Just not enough there for the bucks to my palate. This is just the opposite of my reaction to most lines. Usually I will buy their best and pass the rest. This time their best fails.

Thank you gentlemen. I have my answer. Gosling's Family seems a logical addition.
