I wonder if anyone have tried Coruba 12 years Cigar?
I`m curious about that rum as i have Coruba Old Premium Jamaica Rum which i like.
Its a a bit dry and spicy. It smells burnt caramel.
It is an excellent mixer in my opinion. NIce also on the rocks or neat.
Here are the 12 and the 12 Cigar:

That looks interesting. Appleton's Coruba is the only Coruba rum sold in the US.

2 of those bottles are on its way from Germany, Coruba dark and then the overproof. It will be interesting to compare them, and then i just need to find the cigar as well to my Coruba family. Are there any other Corubas?

Ed,
I just saw a very tropical/colorful label with "CORUBA" prominently written across the top. Many bright colors! Would that be Appleton's offering? I was tempted at about $15 or so to pick it up. But discretion and budget prevailed.

Have anyone seen it?

Does your bottle have a German or Swiss company as an importer or bottler on the label? I ask because there is a company in Europe that owns the name Coruba, which is why Appleton's Coruba cannot be legally sold in the UK. I tried unsuccessfully to get Appleton to bring some in to quench the many New Zealand rum lovers thirst, that reside in London. After conducting rum academies in New Zealand a couple of years ago, I found out that Coruba was the biggest selling rum in the Kiwi isles.

On the bottle itself it only says "Product of the rum company Basel-Kingston"
I bought it from Nur Vom Feinsten (direct link is in the New Online Store Directory at the left of this page)
German Ebay seller lieblicherwein17 also has Appletons Coruba, they have the dark 80 proof and the overproof.
If you e-mail this person i believe you may be able to get the dark Coruba:

I opened my bottle of Coruba Jamaican today.
First impressions: (one dram's worth)
A dark, inviting brown with just a faint hint of light green when held up to the light.
Some alcohol in the nose, followed by a muskiness not unlike my memory of Appleton Extra, but a stronger overall aroma.
A lot of molasses flavor, just a bit sweet but not cloying. Good depth of flavor, it reminds me somewhat of Pussers in terms of flavor, but much less aggressive on the palette. Not bad, especially for $15.
Added: Knowing up front that Appleton made this rum, the taste and flavor profile makes perfect sense. It's darker in both color and taste, but I fancy that the Appleton signature is in the rum. Somewhere between Appleton and Pussers, if that makes any sense.

How cheap it is where you live! can`t believe the price..here it cost much more.
Appletions Coruba is about 22 euro and Coruba 12 is 29 euro. And then the shipping must be added, another 20 euro..
I love my Coruba 12 and i have it in my drink tonight:p
I want to get the cigar Coruba 12 as well, and luckily its not hard to find.

Tiare,
The Appleton bottling cost $15.50 here in Washington State. A bit under 10 Euros today.
